When you realise the reason he was born, lived and died was just so you could come to know him. After all christianity is not about religion but about relationship. The message of the gospel is good news. everyone of us could do with some good news couldn't we. I came to know him a number of years ago now, through a friend I made at work. He told me he had become a christian. So every spare moment I had I went and found out more about this Jesus. I always believed in God but I knew one thing for sure, I didn't know him and I didn't know I could. But here's this guy telling me now that I can and that this is what's happened to him. Wow! I could see there was some good stuff in the bible but to me it was like a big uncharted ocean. so big and vast, I really didn't understand it. The reason why we don't understand the bible, the new testament in particular is because it's written to christians by that I mean people who KNOW Jesus. No wonder it doesn't make sense to us when we don't know Jesus, when we've not been born again. That's what the bible calls this experience "being born again" John chapter 3 verse 3 (new testament. fourth book). That is what literally happens to a person who receives this Jesus into their life, they become a brand new person on the inside. As I said earlier I didn't know God, when I used to say that prayer "Our Father Which art in Heaven". He wasn't my father. But now I can say I do know Him. I can say now for sure He is my Father. I asked God to forgive me for all the sins I'd committed and then asked him to come into my life through Jesus. Jesus is, if you like, the Middle man between you and God. We need a middleman because, between us and God is our sin. Your wrong doing, all the junk, wrong doing, stuff we shouldn't have done, big stuff small stuff, whatever. Your sin and mine demands our death because a Holy God will not tolerate SIN. Let me clue you in here. It's not just the bad stuff that we've done, it's also the good stuff we've not done that we take the rap for. We're in big trouble whichever way we look at it. Ouch! But here comes Jesus, instead of us paying the price. He took the rap for us he took our place, he became our substitute. Brilliant! God accepted his sacrifice and NOW because of this God offers you and me a free pardon. The good news is, now we don't need to go to Hell. Instead heaven's wide open, God is waiting for us with open arms. The good news is that God's not mad at us any more, he wants you to come back to him to become his child. So I asked him into my life through his son and he came in. I became a different person. Now I know I'm going to heaven.
